Members Meeting Details

The Los Angeles Pool League will be holding the 78th Season Member's Meeting on Tuesday, August 21st at Oxwood Inn. There have been lots of changes in teams and we are looking for players to fill in missing spots. We have already talked to many new players and players who are now "teamless" due to changes. Please come to the meeting to help us form up the final team arrangements. If you do not have a team we will be doing last minute organizing to see that everyone who wants to play get their chance.

The meeting will start at 7:30. We will have posted by Sunday evening new motions wich will be presented. So far the following have been turned in:

Jake Fisher (Rules & Protests Chair) put forth a motion to the Board and we are reporting it to the members. His motion was worded as follows:

 “In League play, if the shooter hits their object ball and their opponent’s ball SIMULTANEOUSLY, it is a legal hit. The shooter retains control of the table.”

Steve Duckman put forward the following two motions:

Under League By-Laws, Article VI (Play-Offs), Section 1D it currently states that “the top thirty-two (32) individuals based upon percentages with a minimum of 55% games played as a registered member during the current season will constitute the play-off bracket”

I would like it to read: “the top sixty- four (64) individuals based upon percentages with a minimum of 55% games played as a registered member during the current season will constitute the play-off bracket”

I would like the following to be added and inserted into the League By-Laws as, Article IV, Section II (The Vice-President Shall), Line C: Solicit/Recruit new players and Sponsors through current and new avenues. This also includes the follow through and retention of the current membership base which in turn strengthens and helps support the objectives of the L.A.P.L.
