Palm Springs Invitational IV
Palm Springs Invitational IV
The Palm Springs Invitational billiards tournament was started in 2010 versus Los Angeles. This is the 4th edition of the tournament - which has evolved into a community event which brings together players from all backgrounds and diversities to participate in a friendly but competitive environment. The tournament is a non-profit event, where all the money raised goes toward prize money and for running the tournament.
This year the tournament is being held at the 5 Star Renaissance Hotel and Resort in downtown Palm Springs from Dec 6 – 8, 2013. Players will have access to all the resort amenities of the hotel and it promises to be the best Invitational yet.
The 2 adjoining ballrooms that are hosting the tournament will have 8 to 9 new tables. There is a full bar and restaurant menu available for players to order from. Free parking is available in the adjoining lot. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown and the local bars. The daily raffles will features many prizes from local businesses, restaurants and hotels.
The event schedule is as follows:
9 Ball – Friday December 6th @ 6pm - $ 20 entry fee – Race to 3, D/E open seeding
8 ball – Saturday December 7th @ 10:30 am
ELITE 16 (seeds 1-16) $35 entry fee – Race to 3 D/E
INDIVIDUALS (seeds 17-32) $30 entry fee – Race to 3 D/E
TEAM EVENT (PS vs LA) $ 10 entry fee – 16 game grid
8 ball Hi-Lo Scotch Doubles – Sunday December 8th @ 10:30 am - $25 entry fee
Race to 3 D/E. Shot clock enforced for slow play.
High seed from LA is paired with the low seed from PS and vice versa. This has been a very successful format, which has fostered positive social interaction between the two cities.
