From our Fundraising Chair…….
Hello and welcome to the first week of season 79!
I’d like to congratulate the winners of our Super Bowl Fundraiser. Winning $50 in the first quarter was Tree V (Baltimore 7, San Fran 3). Winning $100 at halftime was Janell (Baltimore 21, San Fran 6). After an exciting 3rd quarter Chip took home $50 (Baltimore 28, San Fran 23). And finally the $150 winner was Walter R (Baltimore 34, San Fran 31). The remaining $150 will go to the League. Thanks to all for participating!
Speaking of fundraisers… This Sunday, February 10, is the Johnny Cochran Greased Lightning fundraiser at Eagle LA – 4219 Santa Monica Blvd, 90029. Registration ($10) opens at noon and play begins at 1pm. Because this was one of Johnny’s favorite fundraisers we felt it fitting to rename the event in his honor. To celebrate the inaugural fundraiser in his name we will have a special raffle to win one of Johnny’s cue sticks which was donated by his family. The money collected from this raffle will go to the newly created HELP Fund (official name TBD) which provides medical, food, rent and other life sustaining expenses to members in need.
We will also have our usual 50/50 rale. So come on out to Eagle LA this Sunday for the first fundraiser of the season and support the league and our sponsors and have some competitive fun with friends. Also note on Friday, February 15, we’re having an evening fundraiser at Trunks – 8809 Santa Monica Blvd, 90069, with prizes, drink specials and of course some pool.
