Welcome to Season 96

Dear LAPL Members,

Welcome to the Fall 2022 season of the LA Pool League.

We are happy to have a line up of 12 teams this season. We also have 21 new players to the league and that is a record.

The week one stats are live on the website, as you can see, we are off to a good start. We hope each of you has an enjoyable season. For our long term players, please assist our new members with questions they may have during the season. Remember to check our calendar for league fundraising tournaments.

Until next time, have fun and play well.

Al Ballesteros
LAPL President

Note from the statistician:

As you may have noticed we have transitioned the stats from a PDF format to a live format through the BCA.  Take a look at the stats page and browse the available data.  There is also a schedule tab in the stats that may be easier for people to read than our current format.

This is a reminder to all captains, please get your scores in by 10am Wednesday.  There are some new abbreviations on the page that we dont normally use, so I am posting the definitions here.

The headings contain abbreviations, several of which we do not use. Here are their meanings:

# - The position of the player in the standings.
HDCP (Handicap) - The current handicap of the player if the division uses handicaps. (not used by LAPL)
PTS F/A (Points For/Against) - The number of points scored by a player and the number of points scored against the player.  One game win = one point.
AVG - The player's average number of points.
WIN PCT - The player's winning percentage.
GMS WON (Games Won) - The number of games won by a player.
WKS - The number of weeks a player has played.
BR - The number of break-and-runs the player has. (not used by LAPL)
TR - The number of table runs the player has.
WZ - The number of win-zips for the player. (not used by LAPL)
CW - The number of consecutive game wins the player has.
PM (Perfect Match) - The number of matches a player has without losing a game in the match.

I hope everyone likes the new stats layout,

Bryan
