Spring 2023 Season Kickoff

Dear LAPL Members,

Welcome to the Spring 2023 season. We are happy you are all back for another exciting season of pool in the Los Angeles Pool League. The season schedule is posted on the stats section of the webpage. Please click on schedule in the Stats (BCA) area.

At the member’s meeting held last week, a couple amendments were made to the bylaws. The first was a motion instructing the league to begin its fundraisers and meetings on time. To this end, we will ask our fundraising snd tournament chairs to strive to have their events start on or as close to the published start time.

The second change was to the playing rules which now allow for jump shots. These will be allowed as long as the venue being played in allows for these on their tables; also, if a player damages a pool table performing a jump shot, that player will be responsible for the cost of the repairs; also, the player will need to make a legal jump shot according to BCA rules. We will post that rule on our webpage before the first night of play.

BCA fees for this year are $20 per person. Also, team dues is due now so please get your payment to Cliff Giles.

This year, LA will be hosting the West Coast Challenge on August 25-27 at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. We hope to have a strong line up for this tournament, so play well.

We hope this season is a fun one and you all enjoy the sportsmanship and coming together which the Los Angeles Pool League seeks to achieve.
