Team Finals

Dear LAPL Members,

We are now down to the top two teams.   "The Sooeezes" with Captain Ray Brewer will meet "Stroke of Genius" with Captain Al Ballesteros on Tuesday, June 4 at Jerry's Billiards in Pasadena.  Come out and watch the final two teams play off.  The match starts at 8 p.m.  The Sooeezes will have to beat Stroke of Genius twice to take first place.  We want to thank our Third Place team, Rack 'Em Up with captain Jose Torres, Ran, Arnell, Paul, Siva, Inmar and Ken. 

Open Individuals and Women's Tournament - June 8 @ 8 a.m. at Jerry's Billiards in Pasadena will be the Open Individuals with play beginning at 9 a.m.  You must sign up before 9 a.m.  Women's tournament will have sign up at 10 a.m. and play at 11 a.m. also on June 8 at Jerry's in Pasadena.  You must sign up before 11 a.m. to play in the Women's Tournament.  The Top 7 open individuals and the top 4 women will represent Los Angeles and play in the upcoming West Coast Challenge in San Diego.   We want to acknowledge our top finishers for this past regular season.  Ran Refael who finished in First for the last two seasons; and Saeromi Kim on the women's side.  Great playing Ran and Saeromi.  

Rising Star Tournament - June 9 with sign-up at 12 noon and play at 1 p.m.  The winner of the Rising Star will be our 8th Place Open player in the West Coast Challenge.  You must sign up before 1 p.m. to play.  Qualifications:  The Rising Star is open to any player who has not played in a West Coast Challenge for more than two seasons with the exception of the Lo Player in the Hi Lo event.  

West Coast Challenge - will be held June 28-June 30 in San Diego at The Four Points Sheraton.  The last day to book is June 12, 2019.  We will be getting a block of rooms held on our LAPL card this next week given the timelines are tight - so coordinate with Cliff immediately if you qualify for the WCC and you need a room.  If you are a board member going, please call Cliff to make arrangements now.  We are looking for four referees to come and assist.  If you are interested, please email us here or contact either Cliff or myself.  If you are going and not wanting to share a room, please call the hotel now and book your room on your own.  Call Sadie at 858-810-5657 for assistance in booking your room.
