8 Ball Members Meeting
Dear LAPL Members,
FALL 2015 SEASON Members Meeting:
Our Fall 2015 8-Ball Season Member's meeting will be held this coming Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at the Oxwood Inn. We are looking forward to our teams and sponsors returning for another great season of play. We also look forward to welcoming new players, teams and venues to the League. You can register your team on the LAPL website or in person at the Members Meeting. Registering your team on-line will save time and provide us a sense of the teams returning - so, if you can, please register on-line. Our Treasurer Cliff Giles will be present to assist you in signing up your team at Oxwood from 6:30 on.
Please know that the board is also working on finding additional playing locations. Please email us if you have a team without a home and we will find you a location. Below is our Agenda for the Member's Meeting.

Motions brought Members:
Motion #1:
48: COACHING - REGULAR SEASON
All players will be limited to four, thirty (30) second "time outs" per game during regular season play (S2014). The "time outs" can be called by anyone on the team and any number of teammates may advise. The opposing captain or designee keeps the time. After 20 seconds, a "10 second warning" will be announced. A player may elect to use two of their "time outs" at one announced time-out period, by indicating "extension". Extension must be called before the thirty-second time out has expired. If it is called, another 10-second warning will be announced. At the conclusion of the thirty-second time out period, "TIME" shall be called. If coaching continues after "TIME" is called, that is a foul. MOTION:
MOTION:
Change "four, thirty (30) second "time outs" and related language to reflect one, one minute time out or two 30 second time outs. All other language to remain the same. New players will still get current number of time outs.

Motion #2:
Under Vice President's Duties:
MOTION: Strike 11) When a Fund Raising function has 60 League members or more participating, the winner(s) of those functions will act as guests to the next WCC, with appropriate expenses paid.
*******************************************************************
Motion #3:
MOTION: modify Section IV: WEST COAST CHALLENGE (WCC) REQUIREMENTS Section E. to reflect all BOG members must either attend 3 fundraisers or pay equivalent each season.
*******************************************************************
Motion #4:
In order to increase attendance and improve chances to qualify for everyone, we need to modify the Last Chance Qualifier.
MOTION: Move Last Chance Qualifier to end of season after Individuals and Women and allow ANYONE who meets general requirements and has not qualified in previous 4 seasons to play for 8th spot. Hi/lo exception to remain in place.
*******************************************************************
The intent of this motion is to change the playoffs from a single bracket of 16 teams to a "Championship Bracket" of the top 8 teams and a "Players Cup Bracket" of the 9-16th place team. The first 2 teams eliminated from the "Championship Bracket" drop into the "Players Cup Bracket" making the "Players Cup" a 10 team playoff.
The winner of the "Championship Bracket" would represent the LAPL at the West Coast Challenge.
The wining team of the "Players Cup Bracket" would receive their choice of:
1) A WCC subsidy as a referee along with paid entry into the night tournaments at the WCC for each player or,
2) $75 cash per player.
3) All rules related to qualifying for a subsidy will apply to either prize.
A sample of the 2 brackets and the full text of the motion is attached to the link.
